The patient underwent bilateral tonsillectomy, and during the 1st postoperative day, recurrent bleeding at the operative site was noted. The requested laboratories were as follows: bleeding time = 3 minutes (2 – 8); PTT = 78 seconds (21 – 35); INR = 1.0; mixing studies = correction of PTT; CBC and thrombin time within normal limits.
