A 6-year-old boy developed anasarca. On physical examination, his blood pressure was 100/70 (p50). Laboratory findings showed 4+ protein on dipstick and an elevated urine protein/urine creatinine ratio. He was started on oral prednisone. After 2 weeks of follow-up, the edema resolved and the urinalysis was normal. If this is a case of nephrotic syndrome, it fits the expected course.
