A 54-year-old male, who has been hospitalized for severe acute pancreatitis, complained of the onset of dyspnea and tachypnea. Chest X-ray reveals diffuse bilateral infiltrates, and a stat ABG revealed severe hypoxemia. The pulmonary capillary wedge pressure was measured and was unremarkable.
