A 5-year-old child was brought for consultation due to a 9-day fever (39°C), generalized body malaise, anorexia, and hepatomegaly (3 cm below the costal margin). He was extremely irritable, had bilateral conjunctival injection, with severe dryness and fissuring of the lip, a markedly red erythematous tongue, right cervical lymphadenopathy (2 cm), and erythema and swelling of the hands and feet.
